Maria Eugenia Aceituno, LMT
A Calling, Not Just a Career
Maria Eugenia Aceituno didn’t choose massage therapy for the career prospects. She was called to it. From a young age, she possessed an intuitive understanding of the human body and a deep desire to help others heal. That calling led her to pursue licensure, advanced training, and eventually mastery across more than ten therapeutic modalities.
For Maria, healing is purposeful — guided by something greater than technique alone. She approaches every client with reverence, seeing each person as a whole being deserving of genuine care, not just a set of symptoms to address.
Pioneering Work at the University of Miami
Maria’s expertise earned her a role at the forefront of oncology massage. She helped pioneer and develop the oncology massage program at the University of Miami’s Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center — South Florida’s only NCI-designated cancer center and one of the top 50 cancer centers in the United States.
This wasn’t a supporting role. Maria was instrumental in developing the protocols, adapting techniques, and establishing the best practices for safely providing massage therapy to cancer patients at one of the nation’s most prestigious treatment facilities. This experience shaped her understanding of the body at its most vulnerable and gave her an expertise that is exceptionally rare in private practice.
A Teacher Who Never Stops Learning
Maria is not only a practitioner — she is an educator. As an approved Continued Education credit provider, she trains and certifies other massage therapists in advanced modalities. When your therapist is the one training other therapists, you know you’re receiving care at the highest possible level.
Yet Maria remains a perpetual student herself. She continually deepens her knowledge, pursues new certifications, and refines her techniques. She is currently working toward nationwide massage therapy licensure to expand her reach even further.
